$80 million mixed-use apartment project planned near Scott’s Addition; Buz and Ned’s would have to move

A 300-unit apartment complex along with retail space is planned for North Arthur Ashe Boulevard on land where Buz and Ned’s Real Barbecue and other businesses are now.

Level 2 Development and SJG Properties, two development companies based in Washington, have acquired five parcels totaling 3.3 acres for the planned $80 million mixed-use project, the companies announced Monday.

The project would be one of the largest apartment complexes in the Scott’s Addition area.

“Even though we’re Washington developers … we love Richmond, Virginia,” said David Franco, principal and co-founder of Level 2 Development. “We’re very familiar; we’re very excited. There’s a lot of growth opportunity in Richmond. We’ve seen businesses coming to Richmond and population growth in the area. So we’re really excited about the prospect of working in Richmond.”

Residential boom is about to hit the Innsbrook office park in Henrico as developers plan for thousands of new apartments.

Innsbrook Corporate Center has been known for decades as a large office park in western Henrico County, but now it is being transformed into a place where you also can live.

Several projects from different developers are expected to bring more than 3,000 apartments and town homes over the next 10 years or so, transitioning Innsbrook from mostly an office park to a place where people can work, live and play.

Developer pays $4.025 million for land in Chesterfield with plans to build 230 apartments

A developer has bought 13 acres on Iron Bridge Road in Chesterfield County with plans to build 230 apartments.

Waverton Development Inc. bought the land at 6767 Iron Bridge Road for $4.025 million, according to Commonwealth Commercial Partners LLC, which represented the seller . The sale was completed Thursday.

Construction is underway on the apartment complex, a clubhouse and a pool. The first residents are expected to move in during the second quarter of 2021, Commonwealth Commercial Partners said.

Six brokers leaving Harrison & Bates real estate firm to join Commonwealth Commercial Partners

Six top brokers from Harrison & Bates are joining a rival commercial real estate brokerage.

The six — including David M. Williams, the president and CEO of Harrison & Bates; and Steve Gentil, the firm’s chairman who has been a broker since 1980 — are joining Henrico County-based Commonwealth Commercial Partners.

Five of the six will become senior vice presidents of Commonwealth Commercial and one will be a sales and leasing associate. They will join the company June 1.

Besides Williams and Gentil, joining Commonwealth Commercial are Chip Louthan, Bruce Milam and Kit Tyler as senior vice presidents and Colton Konvicka as a sales and leasing associate.

“They are an established brand in the industry,” Mark Claud, the founder and CEO of Commonwealth Commercial, said about the new brokers.
