Six brokers leaving Harrison & Bates real estate firm to join Commonwealth Commercial Partners

Six top brokers from Harrison & Bates are joining a rival commercial real estate brokerage.

The six — including David M. Williams, the president and CEO of Harrison & Bates; and Steve Gentil, the firm’s chairman who has been a broker since 1980 — are joining Henrico County-based Commonwealth Commercial Partners.

Five of the six will become senior vice presidents of Commonwealth Commercial and one will be a sales and leasing associate. They will join the company June 1.

Besides Williams and Gentil, joining Commonwealth Commercial are Chip Louthan, Bruce Milam and Kit Tyler as senior vice presidents and Colton Konvicka as a sales and leasing associate.

“They are an established brand in the industry,” Mark Claud, the founder and CEO of Commonwealth Commercial, said about the new brokers.

Commonwealth Commercial Partners Awarded Property Management Project of City View Tower

Norfolk, VA – January 14,  2019 – Commonwealth Commercial Partners (CCP) is pleased to announce it has been awarded the property management of City View Tower Building in downtown Norfolk at 555. E. Main Street. The property is owned by Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA), which is one of the building’s larger tenants. City View Tower, built in 1977, is approximately 125,850 square feet and 17 stories high, including six stories of parking.

This assignment for CCP includes property management and construction management, and leasing services.  “We are very excited to manage this property for the NRHA, which represents Commonwealth Commercial’s first entry into the downtown Norfolk office market,” said Craig Cope, Managing Director at Commonwealth Commercial in Hampton Roads.  “We look forward to a successful partnership, as well as the opportunity to increase our presence in the downtown Norfolk area.”

City View Tower is 80% leased, with larger tenants including PNC Bank, Taylor & Walker, P.C., and Tavss, Fletcher, Maiden & Reed, P.C. Deborah Stearns and Christine Young with JLL will manage the leasing for the remaining space on behalf of Commonwealth Commercial.

Commonwealth Commercial Announces New Partners

Commonwealth Commercial has named three partners.
They include:

  • Ryan Fanelli, who is first vice president in the firm’s brokerage division. He has been with the company for five years and brings over 17 years of experience working with local and national clients across the Southeast. Fanelli’s focus is helping entrepreneurs buy and sell sites for commercial and residential development, as well as assisting clients with the acquisition and disposition of income producing assets.
  • Jamie Galanti, who joined the firm in 2011 and serves as senior vice president in the firm’s brokerage division. His focuses primarily on office properties representing landlords, tenants, buyers and sellers. Since 2011, he has closed more than $250 million worth of real estate transactions.
  • John Mason, who is the managing director of the company’s asset management division and has been with the company for five years.  He has more than 19 years of experience in acquisitions, development and asset/property management in the commercial real estate industry.
