As Senior Property Manager, Matt is responsible for oversight of the current property portfolio in Nashville. He prides himself on meeting client needs with emphasis on tenant satisfaction, accounting accuracy and overseeing all day-to-day maintenance needs for the assets.
Prior to joining Commonwealth, Matt worked with a local developer owner in the Northeast where we wore many hats to include leasing, property management and some development. Most recently he worked with Cushman and Wakefield as a Transaction Manager on the occupier side of the business for a regional healthcare company.

What does being a true partner to your clients mean to you?
Being a true partner to our clients means advocating for the landlord’s investment goals as well as the tenant’s experience. Making certain that both sides feel heard, supported, and valued, is a way to create stronger relationships and more stable assets.
What’s the most rewarding part of helping a client operate a property?
The most rewarding part of managing a property is creating an environment where tenants thrive and landlords see the results through stable income and reduced turnover. Our goal is that both sides are able to see that benefit through the service we provide by managing their property.
What’s something about this market that only a local expert would know?
Tenant preferences can vary significantly by submarket or even from property to property within certain submarkets. Making sure that we know what matters most to tenants at a specific property allows us to focus our efforts on those specific needs.
What do you enjoy most about working at Commonwealth?
What I enjoy most about working at Commonwealth is the team atmosphere and collaboration that takes place daily. There is great comfort knowing that you are not on an island and have a tremendous team to lean on when necessary.
How do you stay connected to the local market outside the office?
I am consistently canvasing the market whenever I am out, looking at different types of assets and considering what Commonwealth could potentially do to help enhance a property for owners/tenants.
